About Physical TherapyForms

At Mindful Movement, we have a different approach to physical therapy. Using both traditional  physical therapy methods and Pilates exercises we are able to treat our patients, as a "whole" - not just as an injury or symptom!

Each patient is individually evaluated. From the evaluation, a treatment plan is established which is directed at optimizing joint motion to improve muscle recruitment patterns and functional mobility.

Our physical therapy is provided in a unique Pilates environment. Pilates is an effective and non-invasive tool for rehabilitation because it addresses and strengthens the entire body as a cohesive unit.  We use Pilates apparatus to assist movement before the patient can perform it on their own.  The spring assisted/resistance equipment challenges you to maintain stability in more than one plane, teaching you to use your body as a "whole" in movement.

During the course of physical therapy the following modalities and techniques may be used in addition to Pilates:

* Manual therapy techniques such as soft tissue work and joint mobilizations

* Ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and infrared

Note that a script from your doctor is required to receive treatment.  Check with your insurance provider  to fully understand your benefits.  Mindful Movement accepts most insurances.
