Beginning Yoga – Class begins and ends with guided breathing and relaxation to familiarize yourself with your body's strengths and challenges. Asanas (poses) are taught in a simplified version with complexity added over time. All poses are directed to improve flexibility, balance, and movement...enhancing the quality of everyday life. Small props and chairs are used to help all ability levels to achieve the postures. We encourage those with joint replacements and arthritis issues to join in.
Yoga As A Way Of Life – Class is taught in a traditional 8 limb style of yoga addressing meditation, breath, asanas (poses), and a deeper understanding of yourself. Poses learned in earlier classes are knit together through flowing transitions. The posture and transitions are performed at a steady, slow pace that allows the student to fully experience the postures while still maintaining the continuity of the movement. The focus of this class teaches you how to use stabilization "dynamically", as you would, moving through LIFE.
Yoga For Arthritis: A collective approach to yoga that includes not only asana (movement), but breathwork, mudras, affirmations, guided meditations, relaxation and more. A good way to approach life with arthritis from all angles! The controlled stretches in conjunction with deep breathing exercises release the muscles that have seized up around the joints to protect them. This class will help you delve deeper into your true self to understand how yoga can help play a larger part in bringing you back to balance.
Slow Flow Yoga – All levels welcome, including beginners. Focus on Breath and Energy. A slow Vinyasa restorative class.
